The Rain in Spain falls mainly on Scotland!

I see on the web that Falkirk has been isolated by flood waters. The only flood around here is the streaming sunshine. Wheyhey! I even had to buy suntan lotion the other day, but then with skin as transparent as mine, that is no surprise.

It’s the annual pilgrimage to Aguilas. Xmas and New Year without the temptations and excesses of holidays at home. This year it’s a little different. I have a new coach and a new training program. With 5 weeks of rest on the run-up to training camp you’d think that I’d be out from dawn till dusk getting miles and miles in the legs. In fact, it is all rather measured and gradual. I’m getting used to working really really hard when required and really really easily when required. I do have a change of pace in the pool – that’s a new one! Kona is 10 months away, plenty of time to build up. In the meantime, I think I’ll sit in the sun and have a coffee….

Merry Christmas.

70.3 Clearwater on TV

Published by admin under Uncategorized

Clearwater 70.3 was broadcast this morning on Channel 4. I was in my bed relishing my final day of season break before I start training “properly” tomorrow. Thank goodness you can watch all the action online at: http://www.channel4.com/catchup-player/player.htm?brandId=ironman&contractId=46178&episodeId=4

Verging on ridiculous!

It’s cold, seriously nippy, chilly chilly and a toe freezing frenzy. I’m coming to the end of my season break. A couple of weeks of total relaxation. Lots of good food, 2 weekends away in the sun (well, almost – the Isle of Mull and Dumfries) and a gradual return to training. I will start up next week and then be jetting off to Spain for a month. Just in time it seems. I almost had to chip the ice off the car to get to swimming this morning, then negoitiate the ice and snow.

Turbo in the garage isn’t even safe from the cold temperatures……
