Hola Todas
Estoy en Espagna again (apologies for poor Spanish grammar – I am trying to learn but it is a slow process). I have another 10 days left of my second winter trip to Spain. It seems as if the season’s races are already looming on the not too distant horizon. Everything is going well and I’m finding a rhythm to training that has been missing for a while. My ankle (which has been bad since prior to Clearwater 70.3 in November) seems finally to be settling down. Unfortunately I am confined to running on flat surfaces as the mere thought of a rough patch is enough to have me falling over again. For the next 10 days I am a solo operator. Two training buddies have been and gone and I have the run the apartment to myself. I think that there will be a lot of Spanish grammar studying to keep me occupied (joy!). I’ve never been in Spain alone before – but then I guess that it can’t be much different from being in other countries alone. And I’ve done plenty of that! This week is Carnival week in town and I’ve some local friends who have promised to give me the insider’s guide. The Spanish, Italian and Dutch triathlon federations are also in town, so if I feel the need I can always gate-crash some training sessions to see what the Europeans are up to.
Hasta Luego!
